blog recharge chat ft. all the details

#BlogRechargeChat is back! // ft. all the details

Back in 2016, Charley & I hosted #BlogRechargeChat on Twitter once and because we got feedback to do it regularly, we started hosting it every month. We took a break after March 2017 and never got back. Until now.

It’s been almost three years since the last Blog Recharge Chat and the blogging community on Twitter looks very different than it used to. Twitter is now a renowned area for blog promotion whereas it used to be just about networking. This has encouraged bloggers to promote their blogs but I miss the networking part of it all.

It seems to me as if the actual chatting about blogging has reduced. And we want to bring it back.

#BlogRechargeChat is a Twitter live chat that aims to facilitate discussion around blogging and gives a medium for bloggers to talk to each other easily.

This chat also aims to make you excited and more motivated about blogging in general.

Blog Recharge Chat also comes back at a time when Twitter chats about blogging are scarce. They used to be really happening events where I met many bloggers and started conversations. It is sad that they are not as happening anymore. Let’s fix that!

#blogrechargechat a twitter chat about blogging hosted by @thewordyhabitat and @themisscharley on Nov 22, 2020 at 9:30am CST, 3:30pm GMT, 9pm IST

The next #BlogRechargeChat will be on November 22nd, 2020 at 9:30 AM CST/ 3:30 PM GMT / 9 PM IST and will be hosted by Charley @themisscharley and Sumedha @thewordyhabitat (me!) on Twitter.

How does it work?

If you haven’t participated in a Twitter chat before, no worries. I got you.

A Twitter chat works with the usage of a hashtag, in our case it is #BlogRechargeChat. Every tweet that is a part of our chat will contain this hashtag. That’s how we keep track of what tweets are part of our discussion.

Charley and I, the hosts, will be posting questions about blogging in intervals and you just have to quote retweet and answer those questions (and add the hashtag in your tweet!)

But the main part, where you get to network with other bloggers, is looking at other answers and replying to them and having discussions.

Why should you join the chat?

  1. You can learn some new things about blogging.

We are going to be discussing common blogging topics that every blogger can talk about. Hence, you can easily pick up new ideas and advice on blogging.

  1. Find new bloggers.

Not only will you meet new bloggers here, but you’ll also get to know them through questions and discussions. This is a chance to know the person behind the blog and hence you might find new bloggers to follow!

  1. Make new blogger friends.

Blogging tends to be a solitary activity and most bloggers find it hard to reach out and talk to other bloggers, especially if they’re new to the community. Blog Recharge Chat gives you a place to really talk to bloggers and start conversations which can turn into DMs & friendships.

This is what excites me the most. I’ve found many new bloggers through Twitter chats and later became friends with them. I can’t wait to talk to people in this chat.

Who can join Blog Recharge Chat?

Anyone who is a blogger!

As long as you have a blog link and have been blogging for at least a day, you’re welcome.

This chat is for all bloggers no matter the experience, niche, age, popularity, etc. We are going to be talking about all common aspects of blogging.

How to join the Twitter chat?

  1. Firstly, make sure to follow Charley and I on Twitter to be updated on and reminded about the chat! We are @themisscharley and @thewordyhabitat.
  2. Search the hashtag #BlogRechargeChat during the event to see the latest tweets/questions and respond to them!

That’s it! The main point of the chat is just to respond to questions and start conversations. Super easy yet engaging.

So, what are you waiting for? Keep an alarm so you don’t miss it! Or better yet, let me know your Twitter handle and I’ll add you to the Twitter group chat where we’ll be posting updates & reminders.

Will we be seeing you at the Blog Recharge Chat? Have you participated in Twitter chats before?

  1. This is a really fun and cool idea😊 No idea if I will be able to participate, depends a bit on what I’m doing that day, but I do love this and think it’s highly original! I wish you good luck with this event!πŸ˜€

      1. Hi Natalie! It’s a public event which you can participate in simply by searching the hashtag during the event. I’ve elaborate exactly how to join in the post actually. I can add you to the Twitter group for reminders (let me know your username if you’d like that) but the chat itself is public and open to everyone πŸ™‚

I’m looking forward to see you there!

  2. This sounds like so much fun and I can not wait for it! I haven’t really participated in any Twitter chats earlier, so I’m very excited! (Also, hoping that this’ll help me understand Twitter instead of me just lurking on there and trying to pretend I’m a part fo whatever’s going on)

  3. Wow this is such a great idea! I don’t have a Twitter so I was thinking of joining, but then I don’t think I can make the date unfortunately… But yeah you should definitely do this more often!! I’d also like to see more networking and making connections in the blogging community πŸ™‚

  4. I love this initiative! Frankly speaking, Twitter is the main channel where I network with other bloggers and freelancers. I think it has a great balance of blog promotion and networking involved. I wish I could join the chat on Nov 22, but I’ll still be in the midst of exams then. I’ll certainly rise to the occasion and participate actively if you do another one of these twitter chats in December! πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you! I agree, it has a great balance of both which no other platform has come close to.
Unfortunate that our chat comes during your exams. Will definitely let you know if we host another in December. All the best for your exams!
