WWW Wednesday // 12th August 2020

Hello everyone!

This last week wasn’t that good in terms of reading for me because I spent a lot of my reading hours to study. My final exams are coming up in two weeks and I am NOT prepared.

Anyway, on to this week’s updates.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly blogging meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words.

The Three Ws are:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

The only book that I’m currently reading is Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo. I’m about 20% into the book even though I started it on Sunday. It’s my first fantasy book after a very long time. I’m not finding it easy to fall into the book. Not sure if that’s because of this book in particular or because of fantasy in general.

What did you recently finish reading?

I read 2 books last week, both audiobooks incidentally.

The first book was Loveless by Alice Oseman which I really REALLY liked. Since then I have come to rethink some points. The book does have a few glaring faults but it is an own voices aro-ace book and it made me FEEL okay. It’s not perfect but I CRIED. I had initially rated it 5 stars but now I’m rating it a little lower because some parts nagged me.

4.5/5 stars.

The second book was The Switch by Beth O’Leary which I listened to on libro.fm. The book was quite good but it wasn’t very enjoyable. Since everyone asked me if it is as good as The Flatshare, no it isn’t. The book has two parallel storylines and I was only invested in one of them. Many characters were underdeveloped and felt one-dimensional. The author tried to do many things but it turned out to be too many.

This was also a buddy read with Pinki and Nikhat. It was really nice to discuss the book with them during and afterwards.

3/5 stars.

What do you think you’ll next?

The next audiobook will be The Death of Vivek Oji by Akwaeke Emezi which I have as audiobook on Libro and have heard many good things about.

Other than that, I don’t know. I’m sure I’ll be studying more so I might not read as much. Especially since I also have my internship for the next week or so.

  1. I bought Loveless the other day and I’m really excited to read it!! I’ve heard incredible things about it and I am such an Alice Oseman fan.
