Searching for perfect || the best nerd guy among all romances EVER

Searching for perfectTitle: Searching for perfect

Author: Jennifer Probst

Genre: Adult Romance

Status: Book 2 of Searching For series, but can be read as standalone

The up-and-coming matchmaking agency Kinnections is the hottest thing to hit Verily, New York—just like Kennedy Ashe, social director for the service she owns with her two best girlfriends. A coach, consultant, and cheerleader rolled into one super-sizzling package, Kennedy creates dream dates, encourages singles to shine, and never refuses a challenge—not even Nate Ellison Raymond Dunkle, rocket scientist, nerd extraordinaire, and Kennedy’s newest client.

Kennedy vows to work her magic and transform this hot mess in a lab coat with a disastrous relationship track record into the most wanted man on the Verily dating scene. If only she could turn the wand on herself . . .

Though she radiates confidence and sex appeal, Kennedy harbors deep-seated insecurities from a tormented past and lifelong struggle with weight issues. When she realizes she and Nate are cut from the same cloth and might be perfect together, can Kennedy learn to let her heart lead the way? Or will her fears sentence her to the sidelines as Nate finds love—with someone else?

I ADORE this book! The title is PERFECT for this.

The Plot

Kennedy Ashe meets Nate Dunkle through a mixer set up by her matchmaking agency Kinnections. He, while trying to find someone to spend his life with, botches all the meet-ups with the women at the event. In the end, in frustration, he unwittingly insults a woman. Kennedy swoops in and separates him to prevent further damage.

After seeing that he genuinely wants to find a wife and is simply clueless on social cues, she decides to take him under her wing. She oversees the “makeover” side of the agency and is excited over a challenging prospect, which is what he looks like.

Throughout the process, they get to know each other and end up falling in love.

The Characters

Kennedy Ashe is a beautiful woman with body issues, food issues and perfection issues. She prefers one night stands in weekends and isn’t ready to settle down. She has a past of bullying and harassment from when she was in school and struggles with her body and calorie intake everyday.

Nate Dunkle is an aerospace engineer (and corrects everyone when they call him a rocket scientist) and doesn’t have the time to scope the dating scene normally for a life partner. He honestly wants to settle down, though, and has read a number of books and magazines as research to be the best boyfriend/husband. He’s very smart, and isn’t versed in social conversations. He’s also very sweet, and is kinda judgemental, coming from everything his older brother told him as he doesn’t have anyone else to learn from.

I loved reading about these two characters, honestly. They’re each very interesting to read about.

The Romance

They’re PERFECT for each other. Mostly, I liked how Nate was unapologetic and spoke his mind, which also is really sweet when he’s complementing Ken. Their “makeover” sessions were the most funniest to read.

The chemistry between them was slightly slow to start but it was simmering soon and they’re just right for each other. Personally, I can’t take how adorable Nate was, trying to be the perfect boyfriend by doing research and stuff.

“What were the last three books you read?”

“The Kama Sutra. The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty. Fifty Shades of Grey.”

“Interesting. More research?” “Yes. Research.” Once he got a woman into bed, he intended to keep her there. Part of his study to understand women included a range of erotic novels and how-to manuals to guarantee perfect sexual stamina and performance.

Also the sex between them was hawt. Because Nate. Nate is perf.

The scene where she wins him back was slightly very cringey and I would have preferred it another way. But oh well.

A very entertaining and really nice book to read. I love that they both (as individuals whom I like) got a happy ending.
